Mustafa Zahed's Heartfelt Reaction to 'Awarapan 2'

Renowned Pakistani singer and composer Mustafa Zahed recently shared his heartfelt emotions after experiencing 'Awarapan 2' in theaters. This sequel continues the story of the original 'Awarapan,' which debuted in 2007. Mustafa's contributions to the franchise, particularly through his popular tracks 'Tofir Ao' and 'Tamarishta,' have been pivotal. Although he wasn't directly involved in the new film due to various circumstances, he expressed gratitude that 'Awarapan 2' has honored his musical legacy.

On Thursday, Mustafa took to Instagram to share a touching moment, posting a photo of himself beside an 'Awarapan 2' poster along with a video from the theater. As his voice filled the room during the opening credits, he was flooded with nostalgia, reflecting on nearly 20 years since the first film's release. He remarked, 'Nearly two decades ago, Awarapan gave me a place in millions of hearts. Tonight, sitting in a theater watching Awarapan 2, time stood still.' The opening moments of the film evoked memories spanning 19 years of his life.

Mustafa elaborated on his deep-rooted connection to the songs, noting that he has performed them at various concerts and events for almost two decades. He expressed his openness to new talents in the sequel, stating, 'All I ever asked for was dignity and due credit for what I had contributed to this legacy.' His comments reflect a desire for recognition rather than resistance to new interpretations of his work. The inclusion of his voice in the sequel's opening credits seems to have fulfilled his wish for acknowledgment.

As he observed the audience's reactions to the film, Mustafa felt a profound sense of validation, especially as cheers erupted following the opening. He congratulated the cast and crew of 'Awarapan 2,' including stars Imran Hashmi, Disha Patani, and Shabana Azmi, while expressing hope for future collaborations on a potential third installment. 'Maybe years from now we'll meet again for 3.0,' he wrote. Since its premiere on August 14, 'Awarapan 2' has reportedly grossed over 153 crore rupees globally, but for Mustafa, the film's success holds a deeply personal significance, reaffirming the lasting impact of his music within the franchise.
