MTV Hustle Season 5 Launches with Increased Prize Money

Mumbai, Aug 6: The fifth season of “MTV Hustle” is set to make waves with its prize money now soaring to ₹1 crore, a testament to the evolution of the hip-hop culture in India, according to rapper Badshah.

Discussing the upcoming season, Badshah remarked, "Hustle has consistently focused on uncovering artists who have genuine stories to share. Each season has showcased remarkable talent from various regions of the country, allowing them to carve out their niche in the Indian hip-hop scene.”

He further emphasized, “The ₹1 crore prize signifies the progress of our culture and our faith in the artists who are defining its future. This season revolves around 'Apna Homeground', honoring the roots of every artist, as that is where their journey begins.”

This season's theme, 'Apna Homeground', highlights the influences of people, places, and experiences that shape an artist's path.

Participants from all over India will present their distinct narratives, sounds, and identities on stage, vying for the largest prize in the show's history while reflecting the vibrant diversity of India's expanding hip-hop landscape.

Joining Badshah this season are fellow judges EPR, MC Square, Paradox, and Agsy.

In July, the announcement of the new theme “Apna Homeground” was made, with Badshah stating that it serves as a fitting homage to the communities and experiences that nurture an artist's growth.

He expressed, “Hustle has always been a pioneering platform, and returning this season feels like coming home.”

“The theme 'Apna Homeground' perfectly honors the communities and experiences that contribute to an artist's development. I am eager to discover the next prominent voices in the Indian hip-hop scene.”

MTV Hustle Season 5 is set to premiere on August 8, airing on MTV and available for streaming on JioHotstar. The show first debuted in 2019, previously judged by Raftaar, Nucleya, and Raja Kumari, with Gaelyn Mendonca as the host.
