Netflix announced on social media that the former co-stars of Stranger Things will not only star in but also serve as executive producers for this new series, which is being developed by Jack Thorne of Adolescence. Throughout the run of the supernatural series, co-created by the Duffer Brothers, both Millie and David received Emmy nominations for their roles as Eleven and Jim Hopper, respectively, set against the backdrop of the 1980s.

The untitled project will also see A24 as a co-producer, with Millie's husband Jake Bongiovi and her father Robert Brown serving as executive producers through her company, PCMA Productions. This marks her fourth collaboration with Netflix, following the films Enola Holmes 3, Just Picture It, and Nineteen Steps. The sequel Enola Holmes 3, directed by Philip Barantini of Adolescence, is set to premiere on Netflix on July 1, 2026.
