Michael J. Fox Responds to False Death Report: 'I'm Okay'
Michael J. Fox Addresses Death Hoax
Michael J. Fox is alive and thriving. The beloved actor, who recently appeared in Shrinking Season 3, reassured his fans after a misleading TV report claimed he had passed away. In a heartfelt video, he reflected on his life and expressed his surprise at the false news. The network responsible for the report has since issued an apology and removed the erroneous video.
Fox's Reaction to the Death Rumor
Taking to Threads, Fox shared his thoughts after seeing the death announcement on CNN. He humorously presented five options to his followers, asking how he should respond. His choices included changing the channel, pouring hot water on himself to confirm he was alive, checking in with his wife, actress Tracy Pollan, brushing it off, or questioning what went wrong. He concluded with a light-hearted message: "I thought the world was ending, but apparently it’s just me and I’m ok. Love, Mike." CNN later confirmed that the report was shared mistakenly and extended their apologies to Fox and his family.
Just a day prior to the false report, Fox participated in a panel discussion for the Apple TV series Shrinking, where he appeared as a guest star alongside actor Harrison Ford. Ford's character, Paul Rhoades, also battles Parkinson's disease. Co-creator Bill Lawrence expressed his desire to have Fox return for a potential Season 4, to which Fox responded that it would be an honor. The third season concluded on April 8, 2026.
