Manu Menon's Exciting Entry into Bollywood

Manu Menon is poised to make his debut in Bollywood with the film Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan. He will share the screen with Akshay Kumar and the late Asrani. Although Menon is hesitant to reveal details about his character ahead of the film's release on April 17, he did mention that discussing his role without giving away too much is quite challenging. He described his character as 'mysterious.'

In an exclusive chat with a media outlet, Menon elaborated on his character, the representation of South Asians in Hollywood, and how his participation in a Bollywood film could enhance that representation. He characterized his role as 'loyal, mysterious, and someone whose actions speak louder than words.' He emphasized that the mystery surrounding his character and his physical presence will be significant.

Having experience in both Hollywood and Indian cinema, Menon noted the differences in storytelling and work environments. He stated that in Hollywood, he engages in projects that reflect stories from his upbringing, while Indian cinema focuses on narratives rooted in his culture. He expressed gratitude for being part of a story that represents his background and is a strong advocate for increased South Asian representation in Hollywood.

Menon also shared insights about the differences he observed on set, mentioning that terminology varies but the project and the environment created by the cast and crew are what truly matter. He praised his co-stars, saying, 'Akshay Kumar, Priyadarshan, and Asrani are legends in the film industry, and they treated me as an equal.' He contrasted this with experiences on smaller projects where he felt less valued.

In a previous interview, Menon expressed that his first scenes with Asrani and Akshay Kumar were a dream come true for him.
