Mahesh Bhatt on the Current Global Crisis
Speaking to Zoom, Bhatt remarked, "The essence of Sikhism is embodied by these individuals. Recognizing the divine in others is the true essence of religion. Their selflessness and anonymity have led them to perform remarkable acts during trying times, drawing inspiration from the rich narrative of Sikhism and its great gurus."
On the occasion of Baisakhi, which he referred to as a day of renewal, Bhatt stressed the need to revive fundamental human values in society. He pointed out that the world is currently experiencing one of its most perilous periods, filled with pain and uncertainty. He stated, "We must bring the essential human element to the forefront, as we are living in perhaps the most dangerous times globally."
He continued, "It is willful blindness to ignore the suffering that humanity faces worldwide. Despite our differences in beliefs and perspectives, we share a common humanity that unites us. We bleed and suffer together."
The director of Sadak noted that many individuals have endured profound pain and violence yet chose to serve others rather than harbor bitterness. He emphasized that when people learn to see with compassion, all divisions fade, revealing our shared humanity.
Bhatt concluded by highlighting the emotional barrenness of the world today, stating that in such times, hope, kindness, and sensitivity are essential. He remarked that these unsung heroes, though they may never make headlines, possess a quiet goodness that is profoundly relevant in today's society. The series is directed by Vinay Bhardwaj.
