The song Aaj Ki Raat from the film Stree 2 has become a massive hit in 2024, especially after being featured on Tamannaah Bhatia. The track quickly gained popularity, amassing over a billion views on YouTube. However, singer Madhubanti Bagchi initially felt dissatisfied with her recording of the song. In a candid conversation with a media outlet, she shared her journey to perfecting the track.

Madhubanti Bagchi's Journey with 'Aaj Ki Raat'

During her discussion about the song, Madhubanti expressed, "I was not entirely pleased with my initial performance of Aaj Ki Raat. The first version recorded at Sachin-Jigar's studio didn't meet my expectations." She explained that after receiving the recording, she realized she could enhance her performance. "I listened to it and thought I could definitely improve it. It didn’t feel complete or right to me," she noted.

After several attempts, including additional recordings at her own studio, Madhubanti returned to Sachin-Jigar's studio to refine her performance. "It took some time to achieve the sound I envisioned, which needed to blend sensuality with seriousness. Eventually, I got there," she added. The song features contributions from Madhubanti, Sachin-Jigar, and Divya Kumar, with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 brought back its original cast, including Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. The horror-comedy film performed exceptionally well, grossing an impressive Rs 857.15 crore globally.
