According to Shreya, their interactions began after they worked together on the show Barsatein Mausam Pyaar Ka. In a recent interview, Kushal expressed his astonishment at Shreya's remarks about him on Lock Upp 2. He stated, "I didn’t even know her full name. When I heard about her comments regarding me, my first thought was, ‘Who is she?’ Then, I recalled her." He also dismissed Shreya's claim that his breakup with Shivangi was due to her involvement, stating, “Firstly, she claimed that my breakup with Shivangi was because of her, which is completely false.”

Kushal reminisced about their initial encounter during the promotional shoot for Barsatein, where he described a brief exchange. "I first met her during the promo shoot for Barsatein Mausam Pyaar Ka. There was a moment where she saw me and said, ‘Wow, what a guy!’ We had a short conversation focused on our promotional duties," he shared.

Moreover, Kushal clarified that it was Shreya who reached out to him on Instagram. He recounted, "She sent me a message thanking me for being a ‘nice person’. I replied, ‘Dude, you can do much better. You shouldn’t have taken such a small role just to see the actor.’ That was the extent of our interaction. I never directly messaged her," he asserted.
