In a conversation with the Editor-in-Chief of a prominent media group, she addressed the inevitable comparisons to Deepika Padukone, who is celebrated for her iconic role as Veronica in the original Cocktail released in 2012. Kriti acknowledged that such comparisons were anticipated from the moment she signed on for the sequel, but she emphasized that they did not impact her performance. She also expressed admiration for Deepika's unforgettable portrayal.

During her discussion on Baatein Dil Se, Kriti revealed that she foresaw the comparisons as soon as she agreed to join the project. She stated, "Whenever you take on a sequel or the next installment of a franchise where the cast has completely changed and the characters differ, comparisons are inevitable, especially when someone has made a significant impact in the previous film." Kriti acknowledged the lasting impression Deepika left with her performance as Veronica, noting, "Deepika truly made a mark. She was exceptional in Cocktail, and it marked a pivotal moment in her career, making Veronica a memorable character for audiences."

Despite the public's expectations, Kriti emphasized that she did not feel pressured to recreate Veronica's character. She explained, "I never felt that pressure because once I heard the script, I realized that Ally was not Veronica and was not intended to be like her."
