In a recent court appearance, South Korean YouTuber Kim Se-Ui vehemently denied all allegations related to the ongoing controversy involving actor Kim Soo-Hyun and the late Kim Sae-Ron. He criticized the arrest warrant as baseless and accused authorities of rushing the investigation. The case revolves around serious charges, including defamation and alleged violations of sexual crime laws, stemming from claims made on his YouTube channel. Kim Se-Ui plans to contest the charges and file complaints against police officials for abuse of power. The controversy has escalated following Kim Sae-Ron's tragic death, with investigations revealing that many online claims may have been fabricated.

Kim Se-Ui Denies All Charges

Kim Se-Ui, a South Korean YouTuber and leader of the Garosero Research Institute, has categorically rejected all accusations against him related to the ongoing controversy involving Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Sae-Ron. During a detention hearing at the Seoul Central District Court on May 26, he dismissed the arrest warrant as 'absurd' and criticized the authorities for hastily advancing the case without thorough fact-checking. He firmly stated his intention to contest all charges in court, alleging police misconduct.

Charges Against Kim Se-Ui

Kim Se-Ui Denies AI Manipulation Charges

The hearing addressed serious allegations, including defamation and breaches of South Korea’s Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, particularly concerning manipulated audio recordings and the dissemination of false information. These claims originated from assertions made on Garosero’s YouTube channel, which suggested that actor Kim Soo-Hyun had a relationship with the late Kim Sae-Ron while she was still a minor, and that his pressure regarding debt repayment may have contributed to her tragic death.

Speaking to the media outside the court, Kim Se-Ui firmly denied all allegations, asserting, "I do not admit any of them and plan to deny them all." He criticized the arrest warrant as fundamentally flawed, stating, "The warrant is nonsense that has not even clarified the basic facts." One of the key issues in the investigation is the alleged use of AI-generated voice recordings. Prosecutors claim that Kim Se-Ui manipulated Kim Sae-Ron’s voice to propagate false allegations, including inappropriate relations during her school years. However, Kim Se-Ui contended that the evidence against him was insufficient and challenged the investigators' conclusions.

He claimed that the National Forensic Service had indicated it was impossible to definitively ascertain whether the recordings had been altered by AI. According to him, the police relied on analyses conducted by a private firm allegedly associated with Kim Soo-Hyun’s camp, which he deemed 'unacceptable.'

Legal Actions Against Authorities

Kim Se-Ui to File Complaints Against Police Officials

Additionally, Kim Se-Ui defended the controversial KakaoTalk messages he disclosed during a press conference in March 2025, which purportedly connected an unnamed individual to Kim Soo-Hyun. He stated that he had previously informed viewers that some content had been reconstructed for clarity and accused the authorities of hastily advancing the case.

In a significant turn of events, Kim Se-Ui announced his intention to file complaints against officials from the Gangnam Police Station and the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, alleging abuse of power and mishandling of the investigation. The controversy surrounding Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Sae-Ron intensified following the actress's death, with earlier reports indicating that police had found no factual basis for claims that Kim Soo-Hyun had dated Kim Sae-Ron while she was underage. Investigators reportedly discovered that many pieces of evidence circulating online were fabricated.
