Bengaluru, Sep 28: Pradosh, who has shifted from being an accused to an approver in the Renukaswamy murder case, is scheduled to give his testimony at the 59th City Civil and Sessions Court (CCH) in Bengaluru on Monday, under strict security measures.

The court is expected to document Pradosh's comprehensive statement over the next couple of days, which may clarify the events surrounding the alleged murder of Renukaswamy, a fan of Kannada actor Darshan.

In light of perceived threats from Darshan's supporters, the police have implemented extensive security protocols around the court. The Central DCP Zone has assigned an Assistant Commissioner of Police, three police inspectors, eight sub-inspectors, and over 40 officers to ensure Pradosh's safety.

Currently incarcerated at Bengaluru Central Prison, Pradosh will be escorted to the court by the Kamakshipalya police, who are responsible for the investigation of the murder case, along with prison officials.

Initially identified as accused number 14, Pradosh later filed an 11-page request to the court, seeking to become an approver and provide testimony against the other defendants. The court granted his request.

Darshan's legal team contested this decision in the Karnataka High Court, but their petition was dismissed.

As an approver, Pradosh is anticipated to recount the details of the alleged murder and the circumstances leading to Renukaswamy's death. The trial court is expected to record his statement in detail.

The court has determined that Pradosh's cross-examination will occur at a later date, specifically after the main witness has been cross-examined. This process will take place in the presence of actor Darshan.

Authorities have alerted the court regarding the threats to Pradosh's life and have been instructed to ensure sufficient security during his transport to and from the court.

The proceedings are being closely monitored, as Pradosh's testimony could unveil critical information regarding the alleged murder of Renukaswamy and subsequent events.

The Renukaswamy murder case involves the suspected killing of 35-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan of Kannada actor Darshan, in Bengaluru in June 2024. The prosecution claims that Renukaswamy was kidnapped, assaulted, and murdered, with his remains later discovered in the Kamakshipalya region.

Actor Darshan and several others have been arrested in connection with this case and are currently undergoing trial. The prosecution alleges that Renukaswamy was targeted after sending inappropriate messages to Darshan's partner, Pavithra Gowda.
