Karan Johar Announces Final Season of 'Koffee with Karan'

Karan Johar's Farewell to 'Koffee with Karan'

Filmmaker Karan Johar has officially announced the conclusion of his popular celebrity talk show, 'Koffee with Karan', with a teaser for its ninth and final season. In this newly released teaser, Johar confirms that the show will be ending permanently.

Is This Really the Last Season?
In the teaser, Johar states, "You heard it right. This will be my last season of 'Koffee with Karan'. I am not acting, nor am I pretending. This is truly my last season." When a caller humorously inquires about an invitation, he responds, "Thanks for asking, but I didn't invite you in the eight seasons, so I have no plans to invite you in the ninth season either."

Cricketers Not Invited
Addressing rumors regarding the guest lineup, Johar made it clear, saying, "No, no, no, cricketers haven't been invited. They aren't coming." This remark references the backlash from the controversial 2019 episode featuring Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, which resulted in significant criticism and their temporary suspension.

Avoiding Controversy
In a light-hearted conclusion to the teaser, Karan Johar quips, "Darling, this is my last season of 'Koffee with Karan'. Why would I do anything controversial?"

A Legacy of Conversations
Since its launch in November 2004, 'Koffee with Karan' has been Karan Johar's flagship celebrity chat show, known for its high-society gossip and candid discussions. Over its 22-year run, the show has evolved from cable television to digital streaming, consistently making headlines in the entertainment world. It has ignited significant debates, including discussions on nepotism and the suspension of cricketers, solidifying its place in Hindi cinema.

Premiere Date
While the official guest list remains a secret, Season 9 of 'Koffee with Karan' is scheduled to premiere on JioHotstar on October 14.
