Kangana Ranaut Weighs in on Sara Ali Khan's Temple Controversy
Kangana Ranaut's Response to the Temple Controversy
Kangana Ranaut has shared her thoughts on the current debate surrounding Sara Ali Khan and her visits to the revered Kedarnath and Badrinath temples. The discussion ignited after reports indicated that temple officials might require visitors like Sara to provide a written affirmation of their faith before being granted access for darshan. Kangana expressed her views succinctly, while the temple committee has also provided clarification regarding their entry policies. Sara has been a regular visitor to these sacred sites and has previously shared her experiences there.
Kangana's Remarks
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Kangana Ranaut emphasized the importance of openly expressing one's beliefs. She stated that individuals who adhere to Sanatan principles should feel at ease declaring their faith in writing. "Everyone here is a Sanatani... so why should there be any fear in documenting the truth?" she remarked. Kangana's comments were brief, and she refrained from elaborating further. Meanwhile, Sara has not yet responded to the ongoing situation.
Details of the Sara Ali Khan Temple Issue
The controversy emerged following remarks from the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee. Chairman Hemant Dwivedi mentioned that individuals who do not identify as Hindus may be required to submit a written declaration if they wish to enter specific temples. He clarified that anyone who believes in Sanatan Dharma and is willing to affirm it through an affidavit would be permitted to visit these temples, including the prominent Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines. The committee has created a standard format for such affidavits.
Sara Ali Khan's name surfaced in this context due to her multiple visits to Kedarnath and her role in the film 'Kedarnath' alongside Sushant Singh Rajput. When asked about her situation, Dwivedi stated that if she submits the affidavit confirming her faith, she would be allowed to participate in darshan. Additionally, the committee is considering a broader proposal to limit entry for non-Hindus in several temples under its jurisdiction, which has been forwarded to the Uttarakhand Government for review. Preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, set to commence in April, are also in progress, with a final decision on entry regulations expected before the pilgrimage begins.
