Kangana Ranaut Calls Out Bollywood's Superstar Culture: A Director's Perspective
Kangana Ranaut Speaks Out on Filmmaker Treatment in Bollywood
Mumbai: Known for her outspoken nature, actress and politician Kangana Ranaut recently took to Instagram to express her views on the treatment of filmmakers in the Indian film industry. She claimed that prominent actors often intimidate directors, which is a significant issue in Bollywood.
Kangana emphasized that in many cases, directors have a reputation that matches or even surpasses that of leading actors, a contrast to the dynamics seen in the Hindi film sector.
The Emergency star highlighted that filmmakers frequently do not receive the recognition they deserve, often facing excessive workloads and inadequate compensation.
In her Instagram Stories, she shared a heartfelt message praising director Aditya Dhar for the success of his latest film, Dhurandhar 2.
Kangana wrote, "The most remarkable aspect of Dhurandhar's success is that Aditya Dhar is a superstar director. In our industry, superstar directors should be celebrated as much as superstar actors. For instance, look at Spielberg, Tarantino, and Nolan. We fail to give our filmmakers the respect they deserve. They are often overworked, underpaid, and bullied by the stars. Consequently, I rarely encounter young individuals, whether insiders or outsiders, who aspire to be directors or cinematographers. (sic)"
"While many claim to have talent, their aspirations are primarily focused on acting. Here’s a superstar filmmaker shining brighter than any leading man. Today, countless young viewers are inspired by his journey, aiming to elevate the film industry! Hats off to you, sir @adityadharfilms," she concluded.
Interestingly, while Kangana praised Dhar, she did not mention Ranveer Singh or any other cast members from Dhurandhar 2.
Previously, several figures from the entertainment world, including Allu Arjun, Vijay Deverakonda, Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan, and Jr NTR, have also commended Dhar for his exceptional cinematic vision.
