On February 298, the US and Israel launched missile strikes against Iran, resulting in the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other high-ranking officials. Haasan urged Trump to focus on domestic matters, stating, “Please mind your own business to the best of your abilities. Mutual respect between sovereign nations is the only foundation of lasting global peace.” He concluded the letter by wishing peace and prosperity to the US and its people, signing off as a “proud Indian citizen” and the founder of Makkal Needhi Maiam.

Founded in 2018, Haasan's political party has seen him become a Member of Parliament as of July 25, 2025, after collaborating with the DMK.
