K Bhagyaraj, celebrated for his contributions to Tamil cinema with films such as Andha 7 Naatkal and Woh 7 Din, has passed away at the age of 73 in Chennai. Just a day before his death, he attended the wedding of Khushbu Sundar’s daughter, Avantika Sundar, alongside other prominent figures in the Tamil film industry, including Trisha and Tamannaah Bhatia. Following the announcement of his passing, Trisha expressed her sorrow and shared memories of their last meal together at the wedding.
Trisha's Heartfelt Tribute
In a touching tribute on her Instagram Stories, Trisha wrote, “RIP Dear Bhagyaraj sir. It’s hard to believe we were just sharing a meal together yesterday and I hear this heartbreaking news today. All my love and strength to Poornima Maam, Shanthanu, Amlu, Kiki.”
Radikaa Sarathkumar's Plea for Privacy
After the necessary hospital procedures, Bhagyaraj’s body was taken home. Radikaa Sarathkumar, who was present with the family, became emotional upon seeing the crowd around the ambulance. She urged the media to allow the family to grieve in peace, stating, “Cinema is our profession, but we are also humans. If you seek drama for TRP ratings, I can provide that through my films. Please grant us some privacy.”

This film starred Anil Kapoor and Padmini Kolhapure and was a remake of Andha 7 Naatkal. Additionally, Rajesh Khanna and Sridevi's Masterji (1985) was based on his Tamil hit Mundhanai Mudichu.

Bhagyaraj was married to actress Poornima Bhagyaraj after the passing of his first wife, Praveena. The couple had two children, Shanthanu and Saranya Bhagyaraj. Shanthanu made his acting debut as a child in his father’s film, Vaettiya Madichu Kattu (1998).
