John Cena's Anticipated Return to WWE Raw: Heel Turn and New Alliances
John Cena's Comeback on WWE Raw
Since his heel turn at the WWE Elimination Chamber event, John Cena has been absent from the ring. However, he is set to make a comeback on the upcoming Raw in Brussels, Belgium, generating significant interest regarding his portrayal as a heel for the first time in over 20 years.
According to insider Billi Bhatti from The Dirt Sheets, Cena may not address his heel turn during a promo, considering the limited English-speaking audience in the area. There’s speculation that he could target R-Truth, who has long regarded Cena as his childhood idol.
“John Cena will return on Monday, but I’m hearing from reliable sources that WWE may be reluctant to have him actually speak and address his turn verbally in Brussels,” Bhatti noted.
“The concern is that Brussels is not an English-speaking city, and Belgium’s primary language is not English. So, will WWE get the reaction they want from the promo? This is a major moment—Cena’s first promo since turning heel—and the idea being floated is that he will be interrupted by R-Truth.”
The report also highlighted how R-Truth often mimics Cena in his absence, and an attack on Truth would reinforce Cena’s heel persona, generating genuine heat from the audience. This approach would also alleviate WWE’s worries about delivering a significant promo in a non-English-speaking country.

Potential Tag Team Name for Cena and The Rock
In related news, the partnership between The Rock and John Cena is being viewed as a powerful heel combination, capturing the attention of wrestling fans since the Elimination Chamber. WWE is reportedly considering a name for the duo, with WrestleVotes suggesting “The Rock and Soul Connection” as a fitting title.
This name would pay homage to Rocky Johnson’s legacy, while the “Soul” aspect symbolizes John Cena’s metaphorical “selling his soul” to The Rock. It remains to be seen if “The Rock and Soul Connection” will officially represent the faction, but WWE seems eager to create a unique identity for this high-profile heel team.
