Team Composition and Training Schedule

The roster includes players Ankita Raina, Sahaja Yamalapalli, Vaishnavi Adkar, Shrivalli Bhamidipaty, Rutuja Bhoosale, and Vaidehee Chaudhari. This preparatory camp, which runs from April 1 to April 5, is crucial as it leads into the tournament set to take place at the same venue from April 7 to 11.

Under the guidance of Captain Vishal Uppal, a former two-time Davis Cup player, the team will focus on enhancing match fitness, refining singles and doubles strategies, and improving their on-court synergy while adapting to the hard courts that will host 15 matches over five days.

Tournament Overview and Competitors

India will face regional rivals including New Zealand and the Republic of Korea. The Delhi Lawn Tennis Association, which is hosting the event, will provide free entry for fans to support the team from the center courts.

Insights from the Captain

During the camp, Captain Uppal remarked, "The competition level in this group is quite high, with each team featuring players who can turn the tide of a match. Our consistency and decision-making during critical moments will be vital."

Pursuing Historic Qualification

Entering the tournament, India aims to build on its success from last year's Billie Jean King Cup Asia & Oceania Group I Qualifiers, where they achieved 2-1 victories against Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, and the Republic of Korea. This year, with New Zealand, Indonesia, and Mongolia also competing, India is targeting a top-two finish to maintain its World Group aspirations.

As the team prepares for the qualifiers, their focus is on delivering strong performances and taking significant steps toward a historic return to the World Group for the third time. With the advantage of home conditions and recent momentum, India is determined to transform their strong past performances into a successful campaign.
