Bhullar and Kochhar Headline IGPL Invitational Ahmedabad
Gaganjeet Bhullar makes a notable comeback at the IGPL Invitational in Ahmedabad, joined by Karandeep Kochhar. The IGPL Tour continues in Ahmedabad following the Bharath Classic. These two prominent players, along with Aman Raj, the leader of the IGPL Order of Merit, Pune champion Kapil Kumar, Jamshedpur victor Pukhraj Singh Gill, and Sachin Baisoya, who secured third place at the Bharath Classic, are all set to compete. This event is co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and the IGPL, as stated in a recent announcement.
Bhullar has already claimed victory in the first two events held in Chandigarh and Jaypee Greens, while Kochhar is on the hunt for his inaugural win. He previously triumphed in an Asian Development Tour event in Egypt and finished fifth in the ADT Order of Merit, securing a spot on the Asian Tour for 2026. The total prize pool for this tournament is Rs. 1.5 crores, with the winner receiving Rs. 22.50 lakhs. Aman Raj currently leads the Order of Merit. The IGPL Invitational Ahmedabad marks the ninth event in the series, with the final two events scheduled to take place in Dubai and Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Bhullar, who has been participating in the International Series while managing personal commitments, has already won the first two legs of the IGPL. Following him, Kapil Kumar won in Pune, and Gill took the title in Jamshedpur. Together, they are expected to shine at the beautiful Glade One Golf Resort and Club.
Olympians and International Stars Join the Fray
The IGPL Invitational Ahmedabad will also feature Olympians Udayan Mane and SSP Chawrasia, along with Asian Tour champions like Chiragh Kumar. The lineup includes international players such as Justin Quiban from the Philippines and Santiago De La Fuentes from Mexico, both of whom participated in the Bharath Classic last week. Additionally, Varun Chopra, an American of Indian descent, and Manav Shah, another American of Indian heritage, are also competing in this event.
Young Guns and Women's Field in Focus
Young talents Kartik Singh and Veer Ganapathy, who were among the initial participants of the IGPL Tour, have faced significant challenges recently and are eager to improve this week. Although Pranavi Urs, who made history as the first female professional to win in a mixed field event in India, will not be competing in the women's section, notable players like Ridhima Dilawari and Jasmine Shekar will be participating.
