Actress Alleges Misconduct by Casting Director

An actress from Hyderabad has lodged a complaint with the police, accusing a casting director of cheating, harassment, and misconduct linked to a Telugu film project. The Banjara Hills Police Station has taken her complaint seriously, registering a case and launching an investigation. The actress, who has been part of the film industry for 15 years, claims that the casting director delayed her payments and subsequently threatened her.

Claims of Unpaid Dues

In her complaint, the actress mentioned that she was approached by a casting director named Prasad in October 2025, who obtained her contact information through a mutual friend. Reports indicate that he offered her a role in the Telugu film Aakasamlo Oka Tara, directed by Pavan Sadineni and featuring Dulquer Salmaan and Satvika Veeravalli. She stated that her work on the project spanned from October 21 to December 9, 2025, with an agreed payment of Rs 90,000 and cab reimbursements totaling Rs 38,000. Despite fulfilling her obligations, she alleges that her payments were consistently delayed.

On February 18, 2026, the casting director reportedly asked her to meet near producer Dil Raju's office in Sagar Society, Banjara Hills, under the guise of resolving her payment issues. However, she claims that instead of settling her dues, he threatened her and forced her into his vehicle. The actress further alleged that he made inappropriate suggestions, implying that compliance with his demands would lead to better opportunities in the industry. Fortunately, she managed to escape the situation unharmed.

Threats Against the Actress and Her Mother

The complaint also reveals that when the actress's mother reached out to the casting director about the outstanding payment, he allegedly responded with threats and abusive language. The actress claims he bragged about similar behavior towards other women and asserted that he was untouchable by law. Both she and her mother were reportedly threatened with severe consequences if they continued to pursue the matter. Among the most alarming allegations are claims that he threatened to kill both the actress and her mother if they sought payment or legal recourse. Following the complaint, the Banjara Hills Police have filed a case under Sections 75, 79, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, but no arrests have been made as of yet.
