HYBE India has officially revealed plans to hold auditions for its upcoming girl group, with applications opening on March 31. The announcement was made from their Mumbai office, marking a significant step in expanding K-pop's reach in India. The South Korean label, known for managing global sensations like BTS, SEVENTEEN, and ENHYPEN, is set to tap into the Indian talent pool following the success of Indian artist Lara Raj in the girl group KATSEYE.

The decision to launch auditions stems from extensive research conducted in India over the past few years. This included a nationwide survey targeting audiences in their teens and twenties, along with qualitative studies in six major cities, in collaboration with Nielsen. The goal is to create a girl group that embodies 'Harmony in Diversity' and shares authentic narratives of contemporary Indian women with a global audience.
