Initially, this film, directed by Lauren Montgomery, was set for a theatrical release. However, in December 2025, it was announced that the film would instead premiere on Paramount+ in October 2026. Reports have surfaced indicating that a 26-year-old man was arrested by Singapore authorities for leaking the film. He allegedly accessed a media server without authorization and shared the film in parts online.


Arrest Made in Singapore Over The Legend of Aang Leak


As reported by the Strait Times, Singapore police acted on a report received on April 16 about the unauthorized circulation of the unreleased animated film on social media. Within a day, they identified and apprehended the suspect. His electronic devices were seized, and a copy of The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender was recovered.


Authorities revealed that the suspect gained unauthorized remote access to the server and downloaded the film, which he then shared online in segments. He is currently under investigation for unauthorized access to computer materials, facing potential penalties of up to seven years in prison, a fine of $50,000, or both.

The suspect was tracked down via his social media handle @ImStillDissin, which was linked to a Singaporean individual. He claimed that Nickelodeon, the production company behind The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, had “accidentally e-mailed” him “the entire Avatar Aang movie.” Following this claim, clips of the film began appearing on various torrent sites and the forum 4chan. According to The Hollywood Reporter, another account from Singapore had leaked the full film by April 13. Clips continue to be removed from X through copyright takedown requests by Paramount Studios.
