During his guest appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on July 21, Scott recounted the moment he was approached by Nolan for the role. He vividly remembered receiving a call from the director, stating, "My phone buzzed, and it just said, ‘Chris.’ I was like, ‘What’s this about? Maybe he wants to catch a show?’” When Nolan suggested he act in a film, Scott was initially shocked, questioning whether the offer was truly intended for him.

At 35, Scott expressed his disbelief at landing a role in a film helmed by such a prestigious director, particularly since this is his debut in acting. He noted that his prior experience was limited to music videos, saying, “I’m like, ‘Whoa, hold on. Wait. Wait. You know I make music?’” This unexpected chance left him feeling both thrilled and anxious.
