This new installment has already eclipsed a major record previously held by the blockbuster "Avengers: Endgame," which ranks among the highest-grossing films ever, even before its worldwide release. The film debuted in North America on Friday, following an earlier launch in select international markets, including India, where it has already made a notable impact.

As reported by Variety, "Brand New Day" raked in an astounding $72 million from paid previews on Thursday, which included early-access screenings on Wednesday across the United States and other regions. This achievement marks the highest earnings from previews in cinematic history, surpassing the previous record of $60 million set by "Avengers: Endgame" in 2019. The success of "Endgame" during its preview phase played a crucial role in its record-setting opening weekend, where it amassed $357 million in the U.S. and an impressive $1.2 billion globally.

Although "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" may not reach those extraordinary heights, it is anticipated to secure an opening weekend of around $250-260 million in North America and approximately $550 million worldwide. If these projections hold, the film will claim the title of the biggest opening of the year and the second-largest opening ever in North America.

In India, where "Brand New Day" was released early on Thursday, the film has already set several box office records. It opened with a remarkable ₹60 crore net (about $8 million gross), achieving the highest day-one collection for a Hollywood film in the country, surpassing previous records held by "Avengers: Endgame," "Spider-Man: No Way Home," and "The Odyssey." On its second day, the film added another ₹49 crore net (approximately $6.5 million gross) to its total, outperforming several major Bollywood films, including "Pathaan" and "Dhurandhar."
