Sebastian Stan's New Role in The Batman: Part II

Actor Sebastian Stan is set to showcase his talent in the film Fjord, which is making its debut in the Competition section at Cannes. Additionally, he will portray the iconic supervillain Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face, in The Batman: Part II. As he prepares to step into Gotham's dark universe, Stan expressed that this sequel is shaping up to be one of the most pivotal projects of his career.

Having gained fame for his role as Bucky Barnes, or Winter Soldier, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Stan is now transitioning to the DCEU. Filming for the highly anticipated sequel is expected to begin soon in London, a city that holds special significance for him, as he spent a year studying at Shakespeare's Globe in 2003.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Stan acknowledged the high expectations surrounding the film but emphasized that this challenge adds to its appeal. He described it as a “truly ambitious movie,” expressing confidence in director Matt Reeves, whom he has admired for years. “If we get it right, I genuinely believe it will astonish audiences and surprise many,” he stated.

Fans are already buzzing with excitement as they anticipate Reeves' continuation of his grounded and noir-inspired take on Gotham City, following the success of 2022’s The Batman. Stan also reflected on the enduring popularity of superhero stories, particularly among younger audiences. He noted, “There’s a reason Batman has remained a beloved character for so long, and why kids look up to Spider-Man. It’s about a kid feeling different and finding his path, which resonates in subtle ways.”

Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as Batman, while Zoe Kravitz returns as Selina Kyle, or Catwoman. The sequel will also see the return of Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon), Andy Serkis (Alfred Pennyworth), and Colin Farrell (Oz Cobb/The Penguin). With anticipation building for The Batman: Part II, Stan’s involvement adds an exciting dimension to what is already being touted as one of DC’s most ambitious projects.
