Priyanka Chopra's Inspiring Journey: From Bollywood to Hollywood Stardom
Priyanka Chopra Reflects on Her Hollywood Journey
Currently immersed in the filming of SS Rajamouli's eagerly awaited film Varanasi, Priyanka Chopra recently shared her experiences and insights about her transition from Bollywood to Hollywood during a panel at the Cannes Lions festival. The actress, who has made a significant mark in both industries, discussed her aspirations and the proactive measures she has taken to navigate the competitive film landscape.
In a conversation with PEOPLE, Chopra highlighted the significance of staying true to oneself in her craft. She stated, "Being authentic is crucial in everything I pursue, but maintaining audience engagement is challenging, and it requires constant evolution." Acknowledging the ups and downs of her career, she reflected, "I am human and I make mistakes; I don’t always get it right," emphasizing that her connection with fans has grown stronger through her openness about her flaws.
Chopra also spoke about how rejection has motivated her in her career. "I am very ambitious, and when I face a 'no,' it only makes me want it more," she noted. She pointed out the obstacles many women encounter in the entertainment industry, saying, "When striving for progress, the glass ceiling often limits women, so you must forge your own path." This resolve has inspired her to take charge of her career and create opportunities for herself and others.
Discussing her decision to launch a production company, Chopra shared her aim to secure leading roles that highlight her abilities in ways that traditional studios might overlook. "Upon arriving in America, I sought more substantial roles for myself," she explained. She expressed her commitment to nurturing new talent, stating, "I aspire to be a support system for entertainers and creators, as I understand the challenges involved in building a platform."
Looking forward, Chopra plans to focus on her upcoming project, Reset, after wrapping up Varanasi. This survival thriller, featuring her alongside Orlando Bloom, is set to begin production in August. With her ongoing contributions to both acting and production, Chopra continues to be a prominent figure in the ever-evolving world of global cinema.
