Priyanka Chopra is gearing up for her next film venture even as she wraps up her current project, the much-anticipated 'Varanasi' directed by SS Rajamouli. On Thursday, she took to social media to share the news of her latest role in a sci-fi action thriller titled 'Bluefly', where she will star alongside the renowned Russell Crowe. In her announcement, she expressed her eagerness with the words, "Onto the next...."

'Bluefly' is helmed by Nimrod Antal, who is recognized for his direction in 'Predators'. As per a synopsis from Deadline, the narrative centers around a grieving UN translator who becomes embroiled in a secret mission to recover a mysterious aircraft that has crashed in the Congo. The Special Operations team faces peril as they navigate through militia-dominated regions, leading to a shocking revelation about their true objective.

While the specific roles of Chopra and Crowe remain under wraps, Arianne Fraser, the CEO of Highland Film Group and co-producer of the film, expressed her enthusiasm for the casting. She stated, "We have a stellar cast led by Russell Crowe and Priyanka who will ignite the screen in this high-stakes, sci-fi thrill ride with layers of depth."
