Legal Dispute Arises Over Kala Hiran Film Controversy
Legal Action Initiated by Kala Hiran Producer
The ongoing controversy regarding Kala Hiran, a film allegedly inspired by the infamous 1998 blackbuck poaching incident, has escalated as producer Amit Jani has sent a legal notice to veteran actor Govind Namdev. This development follows Namdev's recent public statement distancing himself from the film, asserting that the final cut diverged significantly from the project he initially agreed to join. In light of this, Jani is demanding a public apology from Namdev within a week and is seeking a compensation of Rs 50 lakh for purported damage to the film's reputation. He has also indicated that legal measures will be pursued if these demands are not met.
Producer's Legal Notice to Govind Namdev
Amit Jani has confirmed that a legal notice has been dispatched to Govind Namdev following the actor's recent comments regarding Kala Hiran. The notice demands a public apology and a payment of Rs 50 lakh to the production company. Jani has stated that if these requests are not fulfilled within the specified seven-day timeframe, he will initiate further legal action. He took to social media to share the details of the notice, emphasizing that he believes Namdev's remarks have adversely affected the film and its creators.
Understanding the Controversy Surrounding Kala Hiran
Despite the filmmakers' assertions that the characters in Kala Hiran are entirely fictional, the film has been linked to Salman Khan's 1998 poaching case. The initial teaser introduced a character named Ayaan Khan, whose look and behavior led to speculation among audiences due to perceived similarities with the Bollywood actor. However, the filmmakers have refrained from mentioning Salman Khan in any promotional content. Namdev's involvement in the teaser has further ignited discussions, particularly since he has collaborated with Khan in multiple films over the years. The actor expressed his discontent with the teaser and clarified his stance on the project, stating that he was taken aback by the promotional material and felt that the final product was not what he had signed up for. Namdev indicated that he was unaware of the portrayal of a character resembling Salman Khan in the teaser and expressed that he would not willingly participate in a film perceived as targeting the actor.
In spite of the backlash, the creators of Kala Hiran have stood by their project, insisting that its characters are not based on real individuals. They acknowledge the inspiration drawn from the 1998 poaching case but maintain that the film does not aim to depict any actual person directly.
