A New Chapter for Ella Bleu Travolta

John Travolta is set to elevate his daughter, Ella Bleu, into the limelight with the debut of his latest film, "Propeller One-Way Night Coach," at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2026. This event, which occurred earlier this month, marked a significant achievement for both Travolta, 72, who was honored with an honorary Palme d'Or, and Ella, 26, who takes on a crucial role in the film, which premiered on May 15.

In the film, Ella plays Doris, a flight attendant who develops a unique connection with the lead character, a young boy named Jeff, portrayed by Clark Shotwell, during a flight across the country. Travolta described the decision to cast his daughter as "just kismet," highlighting her essential role in creating the film's emotional core. He stated, "Doris is the one that the little boy falls in love with. I said, 'Ella's much more suited for that magical connection that this little boy feels.'" He emphasized that the chemistry between Ella and Shotwell was so authentic that it required no acting, allowing him to showcase her talent as he envisioned.

"Propeller One-Way Night Coach" also marks Travolta's debut as a director and is inspired by a book he wrote in 1997, reflecting his long-standing passion for aviation. Besides acting and directing, Travolta is a licensed pilot, which adds a personal dimension to the film's storyline. Ella made her acting debut in 2009 in her father's film "Old Dogs" and has since collaborated with him in "The Poison Rose," demonstrating their strong working relationship.

Ella expressed her thoughts on collaborating with her father, noting that their family bond does not disrupt their professional roles on set. She stated, "I think we both put our professional hats on. It was very collaborative. There wasn't anything added or anything taken away that wasn't necessary. It was just very natural." Travolta agreed, mentioning that their past collaborations made the process smoother.

Following its premiere at Cannes 2026, the film is now available for streaming on Apple TV. With this project, both John Travolta and Ella Bleu are poised to leave their mark on the film industry, as Travolta aims to present his daughter to audiences in a way that showcases her talent and potential as an emerging star.
