Tom Hardy's Status in 'MobLand' Clarified

Recent speculation about Tom Hardy being let go from the upcoming season of 'MobLand' has been officially refuted. A report from a reputable source indicates that Hardy is still in talks to return as Harry Da Souza, the fixer in the acclaimed crime drama. Insiders have reassured that "Tom was not fired, the door is not closed for Season 3, and things are being worked through creatively," effectively quelling the swirling rumors regarding his exit.

While it was confirmed that Hardy has not been dismissed, the report did highlight some frustrations among the cast and crew. One insider described Hardy as "difficult," yet acknowledged his star appeal, stating, "He’s difficult, but he’s a movie star." This complexity in his professional relationships has led to ongoing discussions about his role in the series.

Amidst this situation, co-star Helen Mirren has shown her support for Hardy. The Oscar-winning actress, who plays Maeve Harrigan in 'MobLand,' shared a touching message on Instagram, posting a photo of Hardy with the caption, “Love you now and always.” This comes after reports suggested that Mirren and fellow cast member Pierce Brosnan were unhappy with filming delays, underscoring the tension on set.

Mirren has previously lauded Hardy, praising his talent on screen and commitment off screen. In a December post, she expressed her admiration, stating, "Tom Hardy for his brilliance onscreen, his dedication off screen, his good heart, and especially the Hardy Hugs I get when onset with him." She also criticized "bad journalism," expressing her discontent with how the media has portrayed the situation.

Regarding 'MobLand,' Season 2 has wrapped filming but has yet to be released, while discussions for a potential third season are in progress. A production insider mentioned that director Guy Ritchie is likely advocating for Hardy's continued participation, saying, “I’m sure Guy is probably pushing David Glasser to make it work. Guy likes working with Tom.” Despite the reported tensions, all involved are reportedly striving to resolve their creative differences as production continues.
