The Odyssey Set to Premiere Worldwide

In just a few days, The Odyssey will debut globally. On July 11, the film's team visited Mumbai, India, for promotional activities. Actors Matt Damon and Tom Holland joined director Christopher Nolan and producer Emma Thomas for this segment of their tour. This film marks their first collaboration released exclusively in IMAX format. During a press event, the couple shared their unique perspectives on The Odyssey. Let's explore their insights into this Hollywood production.

Nolan and Thomas Discuss The Odyssey

Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas sum up The Odyssey

When asked to characterize The Odyssey, producer Thomas described it as 'epic.' She elaborated, "It has to be the first one; It's absolutely huge and the story is told on the grandest scale. I would say experiential. It's a big experience; it sort of really makes you feel like you're in it with the characters and then finally and actually most importantly, I would say human because I think that as big as the movie is and as far in the past as we know as it takes place, ultimately what really distinguishes this story for me is the fact that it makes us identify and realise that we have more in common with these people from the past and with our fellow human beings."

In contrast, director Nolan humorously remarked, "That's much better than my three words which are Matt, Tom and Anne." In the film, Matt Damon portrays Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, while Anne Hathaway plays his wife, Penelope. Tom Holland takes on the role of their son, Telemachus, who aspires to lead in his father's absence.
