On July 10, Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar introduced the espionage thriller Dhurandhar to audiences in Japan. The film, which premiered in Indian theaters on December 5, 2025, has redefined the landscape of Bollywood spy thrillers. It narrates the gripping tale of Hamza Ali Mazari, an undercover Indian agent who infiltrates the perilous Lyari underworld in Karachi to dismantle criminal operations. As he gains trust and rises through the ranks, he confronts Rehman Dakait (played by Akshaye Khanna) to thwart impending terror attacks. Following its success, a sequel titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge was released in March 2026, exploring Hamza's backstory as Jaskirat Singh Rangi before his transformation into a spy. Both films are packed with thrilling action and suspense.

On Friday, Jio Studios shared an announcement on social media regarding Dhurandhar's release in Japan, stating, "The roar that shook India... now echoes through Japan. Experience #Dhurandhar in cinemas now only in Japan." In a heartfelt video message, Ranveer personally invited Japanese viewers to witness what he called the "biggest Indian movie of all time" on the big screen. He expressed his enthusiasm for the film's release and extended gratitude to the Japanese audience for their unwavering support of Indian cinema. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, is now screening in Japanese theaters as of July 10. In his message, Ranveer emphasized that Dhurandhar delivers a complete cinematic experience filled with drama, emotion, grand-scale action, and compelling storytelling. He encouraged viewers to watch it in theaters and hoped they would embrace this action-packed spectacle.
