Hema Malini Expresses Gratitude for Dharmendra's BAFTA Tribute
Hema Malini's Heartfelt Tribute to Dharmendra at BAFTA Awards
Hema Malini has expressed her deep appreciation for the tribute paid to her husband, Dharmendra, during the 'In Memoriam' segment at the 79th BAFTA Awards. She described this recognition as a testament to Dharmendra's contributions to cinema on an international scale, stating that it brought her a sense of peace.
With emotion, Hema shared, "Dharmendra was not just an actor; he was a person whose presence transcended boundaries. He had fans all over the world. I think of him every moment and ask myself if he has truly gone. I miss him every minute." She reflected on how she couldn't share space with him in his final moments, yet she spent more than half her life alongside him as both a co-artist and a life partner.
Dharmendra passed away in November 2025, leaving the family in sorrow. However, Hema emphasized that the family would remain strong. She dismissed rumors of any tension or negativity between Dharmendra's two families—his first family with sons Sunny and Bobby, and his daughters Esha and Ahana from Hema.
Hema stated, "There is no dispute within the family. Esha, Ahana, Sunny, and Bobby all love each other dearly. They are our father, and for him, we will unite and do everything. We will manage this void together."
This tribute took place at the BAFTA 2026 ceremony in London, where Dharmendra was remembered alongside other international stars. Hema also shared her pride on Instagram regarding this global acknowledgment of Dharmendra's contributions.
