Exciting Developments in 'Kantara Chapter 1'

Rishab Shetty has elevated Kannada cinema with his hit film 'Kantara'. He is set to return to theaters with the prequel titled 'Kantara Chapter 1', which has recently welcomed a new cast member. Notable Bollywood actor Gulshan Devaiah will portray the character Kulashekara in the film.

The film's team revealed his first look, stating, "Introducing @gulshandevaiah78 as ‘KULASHEKARA’ from the world of #KantaraChapter1."

The film's stunning visuals are crafted by cinematographer Arvind S. Kashyap, while the captivating score is composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, who enchanted audiences with his work in the original film. The production is led by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner.

In a recent media interaction, producer Vijay Kiragandur shared, “We’ve completed about 30 percent of the filming, and the next schedule is set to begin in September. Fans can look forward to the movie's release in theaters by August 2025.”

On the professional front, Rishab Shetty is also set to appear in 'Jai Hanuman', directed by Prasanth Varma. Announced in October 2024, this film aims to provide an immersive IMAX 3D experience. The announcement stated, “A vow from the Tretayuga, destined to be fulfilled in the Kaliyuga. National Award-winning actor @rishabshettyofficial and acclaimed director @prasanthVarmaofficial present an epic tale of loyalty, courage, and devotion. A proud presentation by @mythriofficial in collaboration with @thepvcu.”

Additionally, he will portray the titular character in 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja', which is slated for release on January 21, 2027.

Rishab is also involved in another Telugu project, collaborating with director Ashwin Gangaraju. Currently titled 'Production No. 36', further details regarding the cast and release date remain undisclosed.
