Gigi Hadid Breaks Silence on Epstein Files: What She Revealed About Her Past
Gigi Hadid Addresses Epstein Files Controversy
Supermodel Gigi Hadid has finally opened up about her and her sister Bella Hadid's names appearing in the infamous Epstein files. In a 2015 email exchange between Jeffrey Epstein and an unidentified person, which was released by the U.S. Department of Justice, a question arose about how Gigi, 30, and Bella, 29, achieved their modeling success and financial success. Epstein's response hinted at their ability to follow directions rather than any financial backing from their father.
Gigi Hadid Responds to Social Media Backlash
Following the release of the email, a social media user commented on one of Gigi's Instagram posts on March 29, stating they had to unfollow her due to her silence on the matter. This comment was noted by various outlets.
Numerous women have accused Epstein of sexual misconduct over the years. He was arrested in July 2019 on charges of sex trafficking minors and conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking. Tragically, he took his own life in jail shortly after his arrest.
In a now-deleted response to the Instagram comment, Gigi explained her initial silence regarding the Epstein files. She expressed that it was upsetting to see someone she had never met discuss her in such a context. She emphasized that her silence was meant to avoid overshadowing the stories of actual victims, but she recognized the need to clarify her position.
Gigi's Reflection on Her Past
Gigi revealed that she was around 20 years old when Epstein mentioned her in the email, calling it disturbing. She firmly stated that she has never had any association with Epstein. Acknowledging her privileged upbringing, she credited her parents, Mohamed and Yolanda Hadid, for instilling a strong work ethic in her. Gigi also mentioned that since signing with a modeling agency in 2012, she has worked hard for every opportunity that has come her way.
