Mumbai: The producers of the much-anticipated film adaptation of Mirzapur have officially announced that it will premiere in theaters on September 4, 2026.
This morning, the official Instagram account of Excel Entertainment unveiled a striking poster for the film. The artwork features a convoy of rugged SUVs racing across a vast golden desert, kicking up clouds of dust that evoke a sense of impending violence and power struggles.
The title 'MIRZAPUR' is prominently displayed in bold, cracked red letters, symbolizing blood and aggression, with 'THE MOVIE' positioned just below. The release date is clearly marked as '4th September 2026'.
The accompanying caption reads: 'Ab dekhiye bhaukaal bade parde par. Watch #MirzapurTheMovie releasing at your nearest theatres 4th September. Dekhiye #MirzapurTheMovie, 4 September ko aapke nazdeeki cinemagharon mein.'
Mirzapur centers around Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi, a crime lord and businessman who dominates the Mirzapur district in Uttar Pradesh, India.
The first season featured a stellar cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
The second season retained most of the original cast, with the exception of Vikrant and Shriya, and introduced new faces like Vijay Varma, Isha Talwar, Lilliput, Anjum Sharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Anangsha Biswas, and Neha Sargam.
The film adaptation promises to bring back familiar faces along with new additions, including Jitendra Kumar, Sonal Chouhan, and Ravi Kishan.
Produced by Excel Entertainment, the film will see the return of key cast members Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Dugal, and Divyenndu.
Filming concluded on February 1, with actress Shweta Tripathi sharing a photo of the clapperboard captioned, 'Mirzapur The Film Wrapped.'
