She explained, “As a Miss India with a pageant background, there is a specific (process). We undergo extensive grooming and personality development sessions, which shape us into a certain mold - what the entertainment industry refers to as the model or Miss India persona. To become an actor, you must dismantle that.”
For Nehal, the real challenge lies in shedding that polished, structured image to embrace authenticity and adaptability. She emphasized the importance of starting fresh as an actor, stating, “You need to be a blank canvas once more. Therefore, I believe that breaking free from that persona is crucial!” She further elaborated on the significance of versatility in acting, especially in appealing to diverse audiences. “It’s essential to learn how to portray not just urban attractive roles but also to connect with people if I am to take on a very rural character. So, breaking that mold and altering that behavioral pattern has been quite a challenge,” she added.
