Farhan Akhtar Speaks Out Against AI Changes in Raanjhanaa's Ending
Controversy Surrounds AI-Modified Film Ending
Mumbai: The debate surrounding the AI-modified conclusion of the film Raanjhanaa, featuring Dhanush, is intensifying, with members of the artistic community labeling it as a serious misuse of authority by the film's producers.
Farhan Akhtar, a prominent figure in the Hindi film industry and currently promoting his upcoming war drama 120 Bahadur, has expressed his support for the film's director, Aanand L. Rai, whose approval was not sought before the film's ending was altered.
During the trailer launch event for 120 Bahadur in Lower Parel, Mumbai, Farhan stated, "I will always stand by the creator of the film. If the creator is dissatisfied with changes made to their work, I will support them. My loyalty lies with the creator. I am not aware of all the details surrounding this situation, but that is my stance."
Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan's business partner and co-owner of Excel Entertainment, echoed his sentiments, saying, "I agree with Farhan. AI is a tool we should adopt and utilize effectively. In the past, we relied on libraries for research, but with the advent of Google, our approach changed. We must use AI wisely and not become complacent. However, it's crucial to obtain consent from all parties involved. I haven't witnessed the changes firsthand, but I believe that if filmmakers and actors have not consented, such alterations should not occur. AI is here to stay, but it must be used judiciously and to our benefit."
