Insights from Fahmaan Khan on the Filming of 'Goonj'

Fahmaan Khan on Goonj shooting

In a recent interview with Telly Talk India, Fahmaan Khan discussed the enjoyable yet demanding nature of working on Goonj, particularly as it was produced under their own banner with tight budget constraints. He emphasized the importance of keeping production costs low while ensuring high quality. He commended Mayur for his excellent writing and planning, attributing the film's success to the entire team's dedication and support.

Fahmaan noted that the Director of Photography (DOP) team and his friends played significant roles in the production, while Mayur's clear vision facilitated a smooth shooting process. Although the film was initially scheduled for 4-5 days, the team impressively completed it in about 2-2.5 days, with extensive travel between Lonavala and Karjat.

Reflecting on the train scenes, Fahmaan shared, "The train shots were meticulously planned, as Mayur had scouted the location earlier. We revisited the site, which was a remote village in Karjat. We arrived around 6:30 AM after filming all night, having barely slept for an hour before heading out." He added, "Fortunately, we managed to capture five trains in just 25 minutes, and I ran alongside each one. One particular scene took about 25 minutes to film, involving a drone shot while I was running next to a train. Suddenly, I noticed another train approaching from the opposite direction." Fahmaan recounted that during this sequence, he was focused on the drone and initially thought the moment was part of the shot, standing beside the tracks. He realized he was “stuck in that moment” as the drone continued to search for him.
