This upcoming installment draws inspiration from Frank Herbert's 1969 work, Dune Messiah, and serves as the conclusion to the cinematic journey initiated by Denis Villeneuve. The film features a star-studded cast including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Javier Bardem. Additionally, Robert Pattinson, known for his role in The Batman, will portray Scytale, a foe to Chalamet's character, Paul Atreides.

Global IMAX Trailer Event for Dune: Part Three

Reports indicate that an IMAX global trailer event for Dune: Part Three is scheduled to take place in New York City on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the AMC Lincoln Square. Attendees will have the chance to catch an exclusive preview of the new trailer and special footage from the film. Furthermore, Villeneuve will participate in a livestreamed discussion, allowing fans to pose questions to the acclaimed director. Attendees can also look forward to unique commemorative giveaways related to the film and other exciting surprises.

Earlier this year, tickets for select IMAX 70mm screenings of Dune were snapped up within minutes, showcasing the film's popularity. The Warner Bros. production is set to compete with Disney's Avengers: Doomsday, but it holds a slight advantage as it will be released in IMAX, unlike the Marvel film.

Plot Overview of Dune: Part Three

This sci-fi sequel is set 17 years after the events of Dune Part Two. The previous teaser suggested that Paul (Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya) are expecting a child. However, in the last film, Paul opted to marry Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh). Villeneuve has stated that the concluding film will focus on Paul as he navigates the repercussions of wielding immense power and seeks to escape a relentless cycle of violence. As an emperor with the ability to foresee the future, he grapples with significant unchecked authority.

Returning to compose the score is Oscar-winning musician Hans Zimmer. Additionally, Jason Momoa's son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, will make his acting debut as Leto II Atreides, while Ida Brooke will portray Ghanima Atreides; Leto and Ghanima are the twin offspring of Paul and Chani.
