Fans have eagerly anticipated the introduction of Miles Morales into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Recently, Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, indicated that there is a significant chance we might see a live-action version of Miles Morales on the big screen. The character gained immense popularity following the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), which initiated an award-winning trilogy, concluding with Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse set for release on June 18, 2027. Shameik Moore lends his voice to Miles in all three films of Sony Pictures’ animated Spider-Verse series.

Feige Discusses Miles Morales' Future in the MCU

In a conversation with China’s Watching Hollywood, Feige expressed optimism about the possibility of the alternate universe Spider-Man joining the MCU after the animated trilogy wraps up in 2027. He stated, "Yes, we definitely have plans [for a live-action Miles], and I believe a live-action Spider-Man film is destined to incorporate Miles sometime after the Spider-Verse series concludes."

In 2023, Amy Pascal, head of Sony Pictures, confirmed that a live-action Miles Morales film is in the works. Feige also mentioned that additional Spider-Man films are on the horizon, saying, "We’ve been brainstorming and discussing more Spider-Man adventures, irrespective of existing agreements. My production partner, Amy Pascal, is already on it, and we’ve had extensive talks about the potential storylines for the next few Spider-Man movies." Moore will reprise his role as Miles in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, where his character finds himself on the run in an alternate universe following the events of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), as he strives to save his family before time runs out.

Hints of Miles Morales in the MCU

The upcoming fourth film featuring Tom Holland, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is set to hit theaters on July 30. Prior to this, the MCU has teased the presence of Miles. In Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), the character Aaron Davis (played by Donald Glover), who is the uncle of Miles and known as Prowler, is introduced, and he references his nephew during the film.

Later, in the 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker encounters other multiverse versions of Spider-Man portrayed by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. During this encounter, Jamie Foxx's character, Electro, mentions, "Somewhere there’s bound to be a Black Spider-Man," which thrilled fans with the prospect of Miles Morales appearing in future MCU projects. Many fans have even suggested actors like Caleb McLaughlin from Stranger Things to take on the role of the webslinger in the MCU.
