The beloved streaming series Bridgerton is welcoming three new actors to its cast for the upcoming fifth season. This installment, produced by Shonda Rhimes, will focus on the romantic journey of Francesca Bridgerton, portrayed by Hannah Dodd, alongside Michaela Stirling, played by Masali Baduza. Additionally, the character of Lord Marcus Anderson’s adult son will be introduced. Tega Alexander, known for his role in The Sandman, will take on the role of Christopher Anderson, described as a charming Regency-era figure who possesses a hidden layer of self-doubt that could disrupt his social ambitions. According to reports, he is set to make a significant impact on society, one way or another.


Bridgerton Season 5 Welcomes New Cast Members


As reported, Jacqueline Boatswain, recognized for her work in Carnival Row, has been cast as Helen Stirling, Michaela’s mother. Her character is depicted as a spirited guide who balances encouragement and tough love as she navigates her daughter through the complexities of London’s social scene.



Gemma Knight Jones, known for her role in Mobland, will portray Lady Elizabeth Ashworth, an old friend and confidante of Michaela. Netflix describes Elizabeth as a character who, beneath her playful demeanor, possesses a realistic understanding of societal norms.


Recently, Netflix released a teaser for the fifth season, which is based on Julia Quinn’s novels detailing the romantic escapades of the Bridgerton siblings. Production for the eight-episode season has commenced in the UK, with Francesca and Michaela set to be the new leading couple.

Bridgerton season 5 will explore the life of Francesca, the introverted middle daughter, who, two years after the death of her husband John, decides to re-enter the marriage market for practical reasons.



In May 2025, Netflix confirmed the renewal of Bridgerton for both a fifth and sixth season, although details regarding the lead character for each season were not disclosed. While Francesca was not officially confirmed until March 24, hints throughout Season 4 suggested she would be the primary focus, despite Eloise (Claudia Jessie) being the next character in line according to the books.
