The highly anticipated third season of House of the Dragon is scheduled to debut internationally on June 21, with its Indian release on JioHotstar set for June 22. However, a select group of fans will have the opportunity to view the premiere earlier, as it will kick off the 72nd Taormina Film Festival in Italy on June 10. Notable cast members from the Game of Thrones spinoff, including Steve Toussaint, are expected to grace the event.

House of the Dragon to Launch Taormina Film Festival

As reported by Variety, the inaugural episode of House of the Dragon Season 3 will officially open the film festival in Sicily, which runs from June 10 to 14. Attendees will include Steve Toussaint (Lord Corlys Velaryon), Harry Collett (Jacaerys Velaryon), Bethany Antonia (Baela Targaryen), and Phoebe Campbell (Rhaena Targaryen). The screening will take place at the festival's stunning open-air ancient Greek amphitheater, set against the backdrop of the active Mount Etna volcano.

The global premiere of the HBO series is slated for June 8 in London, where most of the filming has occurred. This year's festival will also feature Russell Crowe, who will present his upcoming thriller Bear Country.

The jury for the festival includes filmmaker Jane Campion, actress Holly Hunter, costume designer Miyako Bellizzi, casting director Francine Maisler, director Akinola Davies Jr., and Amazon MGM Studios’ global marketing head Sue Kroll, along with Italian filmmaker Pietro Castellitto. Helen Mirren is set to receive a lifetime achievement award at this year's festival.
