In response to these rumors, Sony Pictures India issued a clarification regarding the film's final runtime.

Is Spider-Man: Brand New Day Censored in India?

On Reddit, a post incorrectly suggested that the CBFC had removed five minutes from the superhero film. The reported runtime for Brand New Day is 2 hours and 30 minutes, accompanied by an image indicating a UA 13+ rating with a shorter duration. One user questioned, "What could they possibly have cut from a Spider-Man movie...?"

This misinformation quickly spread to X (formerly Twitter), prompting Sony Pictures India to respond. They released a statement clarifying, "To address speculation circulating online: the film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC in India, and any reports regarding certification are inaccurate." They assured fans that they would provide official updates as they become available.

Although Brand New Day will not be available in IMAX, it will be screened in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Advance tickets for the film in SCREENX, an immersive 270-degree cinema format, are currently on sale in India.
