In light of the recent military actions involving the United States and Israel targeting Iran, the airspace over the United Arab Emirates and several Gulf countries has been closed. This has left many individuals, including a number of Indians, stranded in locations such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Among those affected is actress Esha Gupta, recognized for her roles in films like Jannat 2, Raaz 3, and Rustom. On Sunday, she reached out to her followers via social media to reassure them of her safety and to apologize for her delayed responses. Esha described the current circumstances as frightening and challenging, expressing her confidence in the authorities' efforts to ensure civilian safety.

In her Instagram Story, she stated, "To everyone checking in and messaging, I’m sorry for not replying. We are ok, we are safe! Times are scary, very tough. God is there to protect us. We trust the @modvae is doing the best in protecting and interception." She further added, "Praying for everyone affected, all those stranded and safety for all above all. Hope to be home soon."
Other notable Indian personalities, including actress Sonal Chauhan and badminton champion PV Sindhu, are also caught in the UAE amidst the ongoing conflict. On Saturday, Sonal Chauhan reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing her predicament of being stranded in Dubai due to flight cancellations and a lack of clear options for returning to India. She requested assistance from the government to facilitate her safe return.
In response to the situation, the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has issued a notice for citizens who find themselves stranded in the area. They have confirmed that they are coordinating with UAE officials and airlines to provide support to Indian travelers impacted by the temporary closure of airspace.
