The situation escalated into a heated exchange between the film crew and the locals after the sign sparked outrage.

As per reports, Emraan Hashmi was not on-site during the incident. The controversy ignited when the film crew erected a faux restaurant featuring the contentious sign. This led to confrontations with the local populace, prompting security personnel and production staff to intervene and attempt to resolve the conflict.

Upcoming Projects of Emraan Hashmi

Emraan is set to appear in the sequel to his classic film, Awarapan, directed by Nitin Kakkar. Awarapan 2 features Disha Patani as the lead actress and is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 14. The filming has been completed, and the movie is currently in post-production. Additionally, Emraan is involved in Gunmaaster G9, a film that pays homage to Bollywood's masala films, co-starring Genelia D’Souza, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Singh. This film is anticipated to hit theaters on Dussehra, October 16, 2026. Emraan reunites with director Aditya Datt, known for Aashiq Banaya Apne, after two decades. In this film, he portrays a character who leads a double life as a milkman by day and a man of action by night. The soundtrack is composed by Himesh Reshammiya, who has previously collaborated with Emraan on several hit songs in the 2000s.

Most recently, Emraan appeared in Netflix’s Taskaree, where he played a customs officer, and also starred in Haq alongside Yami Gautam, making a brief cameo as an intimacy coach in Aryan Khan’s The Ba***ds of Bollywood.
