Dulquer Salmaan Faces Renewed Scrutiny in Luxury SUV Smuggling Investigation
Dulquer Salmaan Under Investigation for Luxury SUV Smuggling
Actor Dulquer Salmaan has come under the spotlight once again as the Customs Department has summoned him regarding an ongoing investigation into luxury SUV smuggling and tax evasion. This inquiry began last year when the Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate initiated Operation Numkhor, targeting the illegal importation of high-end vehicles from Bhutan, which were allegedly registered with false documents to avoid taxes. As part of this operation, officials conducted searches at various locations in Kerala, including Dulquer's home, leading to the seizure of four vehicles associated with him. Following a lengthy seven-hour interrogation, he has now been called in for further questioning.
Customs Department Summons Dulquer Salmaan Again
Sources indicate that Dulquer Salmaan is expected to undergo another round of questioning by the Customs Department. Officials have opted to summon the Lucky Bhaskar star again after analyzing his previous seven-hour statement. There are indications that additional suspected smuggled vehicles may have been registered under his name. Authorities are currently requesting more documentation related to the luxury cars involved in the investigation. Although four vehicles linked to Dulquer were confiscated during Operation Numkhor, no formal charges have been brought against him yet.

Before the next questioning session, authorities are working to determine which vehicles are connected to Dulquer, after which he will be summoned. The actor has consistently stated that all his vehicles were acquired through legitimate means, asserting that the luxury cars in question were purchased lawfully and that he possesses all necessary documentation to validate this. He has also confirmed that payments were made through bank transactions. Dulquer, who is the son of renowned Malayalam actor Mammootty, has pledged his full cooperation with the investigation.
It is important to note that the Customs Department has not officially named him as a suspect in this case, and the investigation is ongoing.
Details on Dulquer Salmaan's Luxury Vehicle Case
Dulquer Salmaan's Land Rover Defender, Toyota Land Cruiser, Nissan Patrol, and another luxury vehicle were seized by the Customs Commissionerate in Kochi as part of the investigation into an interstate operation involving allegedly smuggled cars purchased in India with forged documents. Earlier in April, a high-ranking delegation from Bhutan's Customs Department reportedly visited Kerala to assist with the inquiry. Reports suggest that approximately 37 luxury vehicles may have been smuggled into the state via the Indo-Bhutan route.
