Drishyam 3 Continues to Impress at the Box Office


The latest installment in the Drishyam franchise, featuring Mohanlal, is enjoying a successful run in theaters, with impressive earnings at the global box office. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, this crime thriller debuted on May 21 and has received a warm reception from viewers. On its eighth day, the film garnered approximately Rs 6.50 crore nett in India, bringing its domestic total to Rs 81.80 crore. The film's performance in international markets has also been strong, pushing its worldwide gross collection close to the Rs 200 crore mark. Drishyam 3 has now secured its place among the highest-grossing Malayalam films worldwide, showcasing the audience's affection for this celebrated franchise.


Box Office Performance on Day 8: International Success for Drishyam 3


International markets have significantly contributed to the film's success. On Day 8, Drishyam 3 earned nearly Rs 5.50 crore from overseas, resulting in an international gross total of Rs 103 crore. Although there was a slight decrease of 2.3 percent from Day 7's earnings of Rs 6.65 crore, the film has maintained a strong presence at the box office. On its second Thursday, Drishyam 3 was showcased in 3,453 screenings.



The film's nett collection in India now stands at Rs 81.80 crore, with a gross of Rs 94.91 crore. Kerala remains the largest contributor, adding Rs 5.55 crore to the gross on Day 8. Other southern states also reported steady earnings, with Karnataka contributing Rs 80 lakhs, while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana combined added Rs 48 lakhs. Tamil Nadu's contribution was Rs 45 lakhs, and the remaining regions across India accounted for Rs 25 lakhs. The Malayalam version achieved an overall occupancy rate of 47.75 percent, with evening and night shows seeing higher attendance. The Telugu version recorded 17.58 percent occupancy, while Tamil screenings had 29.07 percent, and Kannada shows stood at 21.83 percent.


Mohanlal Expresses Gratitude to Fans for Their Support


In light of the film's success, Mohanlal expressed his appreciation to fans for their unwavering support. He shared on X, “Three films. Three chapters. One unbroken bond. Thank you for walking with Georgekutty & Family.” Following its theatrical release, Drishyam 3 is expected to stream on Prime Video. Typically, films transition to OTT platforms within six to eight weeks after their theatrical run, suggesting that streaming could commence by late June or early July, although an official announcement from the makers is still pending.
