However, reports emerged that the project was put on hold due to disagreements between Kartik and the production team. In 2025, Vikrant Massey was introduced as a new addition to the cast, while Lakshya remained involved. The latest buzz revolves around the female lead for the film.

Priyanka Chopra's Legacy
In the original Dostana, Priyanka Chopra played a significant role. Recent updates from Variety India suggest that Sini Shetty, a former Miss India, is in line to take on the lead role, marking her acting debut.
