Diljit Dosanjh's Delhi Concert Gets Green Light for October 30
Approval Granted for Diljit Dosanjh's Concert
Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has finally received the necessary approval from the Delhi police for his concert. Initially, the police had denied permission due to security concerns just a day prior. However, after discussions with the organizers and reaching an agreement on security measures, the event has been cleared to proceed. The concert is scheduled for October 30 at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium.
Agreement on Security and Crowd Management
The ticketing partner, BookMyShow, along with the event organizers, has agreed to comply with all security, crowd management, and traffic regulations set forth by the police. This decision came after several rounds of discussions between officials and organizers. A detailed plan for security arrangements and crowd control was presented to the police, who expressed satisfaction after reviewing it, leading to the issuance of the event's permit. The organizers have confirmed that the show will proceed as planned on October 30 in Delhi.
Strict Security Conditions Imposed
To ensure safety during the concert, the Delhi police have laid down several conditions for the organizers. These include deploying a sufficient number of private security personnel, installing metal detectors at entry and exit points, and establishing protocols for safely evacuating attendees in emergencies. Additionally, the responsibility for traffic management has been assigned to the organizers to prevent congestion and disorder around the stadium during the event.
Initial Denial of Permission Due to Security Concerns
Previously, on October 22, the Deputy Commissioner's office of the Delhi police had rejected the request to hold the concert. The police cited specific security inputs from intelligence agencies and the additional responsibilities of maintaining law and order during the festival season as reasons for their decision. Officials indicated that granting permission for such a large event under these circumstances was not feasible.
Diljit’s 'Ora India Tour' Kicks Off in Delhi
This concert marks the beginning of Diljit Dosanjh's 'Ora India Tour.' Originally scheduled for November 1, the date was moved to October 30 in consideration of the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Following Delhi, Diljit will perform in other major cities including Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Lucknow. With the police's approval now in hand, the organizers have accelerated preparations for the event.
Warning Against Fake Volunteer Recruitment
Ahead of the concert, there were reports of individuals being targeted under the guise of fake volunteer recruitment on social media. Diljit Dosanjh took to Instagram to warn fans about these fraudulent pages, clarifying that his team is not recruiting any volunteers. He urged people not to share personal information on unfamiliar social media platforms.
